## About This Calculator

Connecticut's 2025 Paid Sick Leave amendments require covered employers to provide 40 hours of paid sick leave per year. The employer-size threshold is phased: 25 or more employees in 2025, 11 or more employees in 2026, and 1 or more employees in 2027. Employers can choose to **frontload** the full entitlement at the start of the benefit year rather than requiring accrual.

For employees hired mid-year, employers may prorate the frontloaded amount based on the portion of the benefit year remaining. This calculator uses the standard calendar-year benefit period (January 1 – December 31).
